Legal Counsel Data Protection | Frankfurt
A globally operating group is strengthening its in-house privacy function and is looking for a data protection professional to take ownership of advisory, governance and project work. You'll join a small specialist team that supports the group's businesses and corporate departments.
The role:
- Own the evolution of the privacy management system, keeping it fit for purpose as the business changes.
- Build out the internal rulebook, from group-wide policies down to practical guidance for day-to-day operations.
- Help teams across the organisation embed privacy requirements into their workflows, from first concept to rollout.
- Review data processing from a legal perspective, weigh competing interests and recommend workable approaches.
- Serve as a sparring partner for privacy coordinators within the business.
- Steer data protection projects together with the function's leadership.
- Raise privacy awareness through training formats and targeted communication, and check that established controls deliver results.
- Expect regular interaction with colleagues from other departments and countries.
What you'll need:
- Roughly three to five years of privacy experience in an international corporate setting.
- An academic background in law, economics or social sciences. Candidates whose strength lies in IT, gained through a degree or a comparable qualification, are equally welcome.
- A confident understanding of IT systems and how business processes connect.
- A talent for making legal topics accessible to non-lawyers.
- A self-starting approach combined with genuine enjoyment of teamwork.
- Fluency in German and English.
- Confidence with standard Microsoft tools.
